I had a smart alarm, a Google Hub, but over time the software just got worse. Owning a smart device also taught me what is important in an alarm clock, and it's not WiFi, video, a screen, software updates, internet required... it's really simple, it's the fundamentals.

The fundamentals here are executed perfectly.

* A screen with the time written clearly, large enough to read without eyewear

* A screen with the time of the alarm shown, and an obvious indicator as to whether it is set to go off or not

* An alarm that wakes me

* Obvious and intuitive to adjust the time and alarm, for I will never read (and also lose) the manual

* A screen that is totally unlit at night, allows the room to go totally black, but yet a single light touch will light it dimly for a short while

It's very hard, it seems, to get all this right... and yet here it is, a simple package with a timeless design and all of the basics done flawlessly.

It's an alarm clock, what more do you really need?

It's an expensive little clock, but we like it very much. We don't want to look at the time in the middle of the night, so it is perfect for that. Big improvements on the former model: you only need to touch the top if you do need to see the time in the dark, and the alarm button has been moved moved to the back, so that you can't accidentally set your alarm (which we've done) or turn it off. Finally the cascading sound of the alarm is nice, starting out soft then growing louder.

Sehr schöner Wecker. Zeitloses Design. Optisch eine Wucht und gut verarbeitet. Kinderleichte Bedienung. So muss ein Wecker sein. Weckt mit ansteigender Lautstärke. Es hat sich auf jedenfall gelohnt diesen Wecker zu kaufen.
