EASTER: The Worship of a Pagan Sex Goddess

Shocking as it may sound at first glance, the Easter celebrations of nominal Christianity is directly linked to the pagan and idolatrous worship of an ancient sex goddess!

What is the origin of the word Easter? It certainly is not biblical and in no way is Easter connected with Christ, his death and resurrection. Easter has no biblical basis or legitimacy. There is no “Good Friday” and “Easter Sunday” in scripture. So, wherefrom Easter?

Easter derives from the name Astarte, the “Queen of Heaven” which is the same as the Egyptian goddess Isis. In ancient Nineveh she was known as Ishtar, the Anglicization of which is Easter. In the New Testament we encounter her as Diana of Ephesus, “whom all Asia and the world worshipped” [Acts 19:27].

In Rome, where she was known as Venus; her common title was "The Lady”, the female consort of the pagan god Baal, frequently referred to in scripture as an abominable idol hated by the Eternal for all the vileness its worship represents. This male and female couple of deities represented the reproductive powers of nature; hence the introduction and practice of the oxymoronic “sacred prostitution” in their worship.

How abominable was this cultic sex worship of Easter—Ishtar, Astarte, Isis, “The Lady”, the “Queen of heaven”—anciently? To understand the revolting vulgarity and wickedness of ancient Easter worship, which was adopted by Israel of old, adored by and nationally pleasured the Jews, and eventually transmitted and accepted into the New Testament Church in its Easter celebrations, it is worth quoting at length from Herodotus chapter 1:199 which describes the customary worship and service women had to render unto the “Queen of Heaven”, or the sex goddess Easter.

This is Herodotus’ account of the worship ritual of the sex idol, Easter: “The foulest Babylonian custom is that which compels every woman of the land to sit in the temple of Aphrodite and have intercourse with some stranger once in her life. Many women who are rich and proud and disdain to mingle with the rest, drive to the temple in covered carriages drawn by teams, and stand there with a great retinue of attendants. [2] But most sit down in the sacred plot of Aphrodite, with crowns of cord on their heads; there is a great multitude of women coming and going; passages marked by line run every way through the crowd, by which the men pass and make their choice. [3] Once a woman has taken her place there, she does not go away to her home before some stranger has cast money into her lap, and had intercourse with her outside the temple; but while he casts the money, he must say, “I invite you in the name of Mylitta” (that is the Assyrian name for Aphrodite). [4] It does not matter what sum the money is; the woman will never refuse, for that would be a sin, the money being by this act made sacred. [Comment: How perverse! The sexual sin becomes sacred, or an act of holiness!] So she follows the first man who casts it and rejects no one. After their intercourse, having discharged her sacred duty to the goddess, she goes away to her home; and thereafter there is no bribe however great that will get her. [5] So then the women that are fair and tall are soon free to depart, but the uncomely have long to wait because they cannot fulfill the law; for some of them remain for three years, or four.” [Herodotus, The Histories, English translation by A. D. Godley. Cambridge. Harvard University Press. 1920. Emphasis added.]

It staggers the mind to perceive the utter humiliation experienced day after day for four long years of those less endowed by the Creator with physical beauty. To sit for three to four years as a spurned and unwanted temple “prostitute” and be passed over regularly must have been the depth of humiliation and dehumanization. But, so powerful was the hold this ancient corrupt sex industry had over the nations that the practice was known as “sacred prostitution”! This is the manner in which women in pagan society fulfilled their propitiatory duty towards the “Queen of Heaven”, the goddess-queen called “The hope of the whole world!” [The Papacy have applied these pagan idolatrous titles to Mary, the mother of Christ, referring to her also by the blasphemous title, "Mother of God", and with a 1000 additional titles. Veneration of the "Queen of Heaven" is still flourishing among modern pagans, and among hundreds of millions of Catholics, just as it did anciently among the Pagans, Jews and Israelites.]

There’s nothing sacred about prostitution or holy about such a demeaning, despicable, and dreadfully ungodly custom. Yet despite being forewarned by Yehovah not to engage in the vile religious habits of the gentile nations around them, Israel eventually succumbed to the power of the sex goddess Easter and Judah took great pride in and showed enormous zeal for this immoral, licentious idolatry.

This vile religious deception so fully captured superstitious peoples worldwide that the only true hope of the world, Christ, would eventually be superseded by this promiscuous pagan prostitute by having His propitiatory Passover death and resurrection replaced by the sexually "propitiatory" ceremony of the great universal prostitute—Easter!

This carnal religious custom started 2200 years before Christ died as a propitiation for the sins of a religiously Ishtar-Easter corrupted humanity.

Jeremiah records the following religious custom observed in “the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem. The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead their dough, to make cakes to the Queen of heaven, and pour out drink offerings unto other gods, that they may provoke me to anger” [Jer 7:17-18].

This was an entire family affair just as Easter remains to this day in the Churchian society. The corruption was universal. Everybody was dedicated to a task in honour of the goddess Ishtar, or Easter. The pagan custom in honouring the Queen of Heaven was a religious indoctrination affair. It became, like the other pagan custom “Christ”-mas, a great event in the "Christian" religious calendar. And festive eating was central to the celebrations. At Easter time sweet sacrificial cakes were offered to Queen Easter. [This title, "Queen of Heaven" occurs only in Jeremiah, here and in Jeremiah 44:17-19, 25.]

The celebration of “Easter” was never observed in the true "Church of God" -- never for the first few centuries of its existence and never afterwards till today. The reference in Acts 12:4 to “Easter” is a total deception on the part of the translators. The Greek text reads “Pascha” and has direct reference to the Passover of Exodus 12. And, it represents the exact time when Christ was killed, the 14th day of Abib [also spelled Aviv]. The Passover ceremony, as instituted by Christ on the eve of his death in 31A.D., has always been observed by the true "Church of God", the sacred ecclesia of the Eternal Father, sanctified by the blood of the Messiah as symbolized by the Passover wine. The Easter drink offering of Jeremiah 7:18 is in honor of a vile sex goddess and associated pagan demonic gods!

To accommodate the pagans into his Constantinian Roman Paganised Church, measures were taken to amalgamate paganism and nominal Christianity. This was achieved by skillfully amalgamating the pagan feasts with the annual biblical festivals of the early Apostolic church. [These church festivals, taught and observed by the Apostles, were based upon the Biblical calendar of Leviticus 23.] Hislop, in his historic book, "The Two Babylons", observes that this amalgamation of the pagan Ishtar/Easter with the scriptural Passover to affect a change in the Church calendar in later centuries [when Rome enforced pagan Easter upon the citizenry], was attended with momentous "violence and bloodshed" in ancient Britain. The commemoration of the perfect, holy Passover Lamb of God [Christ, a male], was replaced by a festival in honor of an unholy, corrupt, sexually licentious Chaldean goddess, Ishtar [Easter, a female]. The contrasting opposites are staggering!

Traditionally the Babylonian-Chaldean festival was observed with dyed eggs and sweet fine-flower buns—the modern traditional "Good Friday" hot cross bun. The irony of history is that 2200 years before Christ's death and resurrection the sweet "bun", the sacred bread, was used in worship of the "Queen of Heaven", the sex goddess Easter. It was common ancient practice to eat the meal [bread] offering. The custom survived over four millennia until our day in the 21st century! Thus, still today, the bread offered to the “Queen of Heaven”—the hot cross bun—is eaten by the devotees of Easter.

Jeremiah refers to these round "cakes [made] to the Queen of heaven" [7:18]. The Hebrew word for cakes is "kavvan". The “v” is interchangeable with "b". For instance the Negev is also spelled Negeb; or, as noted above Aviv can become Abib. “Kavvan” became Kabban and by contraction when spoken, became kban, or kbon, and eventually bun. [Hislop, The Two Babylons, Seventh Edition, Footnote, p.108.]

The Jews were so deeply depraved that Yehovah commanded Jeremiah not to pray for that wicked generation. Though Jeremiah did pray for them [Jeremiah 14:9; 19-20] his intercession for a race corrupted by Easter worship was in vain. God totally rejected his importunate intercession on their behalf. The entire family was incorrigibly wrapped up in the Easter celebrations [Jer 7:18]. This deeply entrenched gentile custom turned all of Israel into zealous worshippers of the so-called “Queen of Heaven”. The people were so firmly anchored in Easter worship which was diligently cultivated to the degree that even the prophet’s command and warnings were blatantly, wilfully and rebelliously refused because goddess Easter was viewed as “the giver of all good things”, replacing Yehovah as the true "Giver of all good things"!

Notice the Jews' belligerent obstinacy based on self-deception induced by their passion and carnal lust. They said to Jeremiah — no, in fact, to God himself! --- “As for the word that you have spoken unto us in the name of YEHOVAH, we will not hearken unto you. But we will certainly do whatsoever thing goes forth out of our own mouth, to burn incense unto the Queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, as we have done, we, and our fathers, our kings, and our princes, in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem: for then had we plenty of victuals, and were well, and saw no evil. [The Jews honored Easter as the giver of all their blessings!] But since we left off to burn incense to the Queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, we have wanted all things, and have been consumed by the sword and by the famine. And when we burned incense to the Queen of heaven, and poured out drink offerings unto her, did we make her cakes to worship her, and pour out drink offerings unto her, without our men?" [The husbands were fully involved.] [Jeremiah 44:16-19.]

“They provoked His jealousy with foreign gods [a specific reference to committing adultery]; they enraged Him with abominations. They sacrificed to demons, not to God, to gods [idols] they had not known…” [Deuteronomy 32:16-17.]

These sacrificial cakes were baked on the altar in the service of the Queen of heaven the chief female deity of the pagans venerated by the Israelites and Jews alike. In reality, their worship was the worship of DEMONS! That is, the whole host of heaven, sun, moon, and stars, were worshipped in the cities of Judah, and in the places round about Jerusalem [2 Kings 23:5]. However the Jews have a particular star which they honor, called "Chiun, your image, the star of your god" [Amos 5:26; Acts 7:43]. To this day the national emblem of Judah is that star, a continuation of their ancient idolatry.

What will be the outcome of the Easter demon worship perpetuated from the time of Babylon, adopted by Israel and Judah, and accepted by the early profligate clergy and embraced by modern Churchianity? The outcome is disaster politically, economically, spiritually, sociologically. This is amply demonstrated in the current American and Israeli chaos, riots, internecine violence, etc. The chruchian clergy, having accepted the traditions of the pagans, having rejected the simple scriptural truth of the Passover, having preferred Lady Ishtar-Easter and her inane celebrations—even though fully aware of its origins and implications—ensured that their sin will remain [John 9:41]. And, as the spiritual leaders, will bring upon their constituents the wrath of the Almighty -- soon to be poured out in full strength [Rev 14:10].

The prophetic word is crystal clear: “And in the days to come [‘achar, the end part, the far future, at the end-part of time, now in the 21st century], disaster will befall you because you will [continue to] do evil …” [Deut 31:29]. The horrors of past historic disasters experience by Israel and Judah will be far surpassed by what is yet to be experienced by their modern descendants, currently entrapped in the deceptions of Judaism and Churchianity. It is revealed in Scripture as the Great Tribulation. [See Daniel 12:1 and Matthew 24:21.]

If the Church does not desire its legacy to be eternally tarnished by the immoral pagan filth represented by the continued acceptance of the heathen sex goddess, Easter, then is it not high time for it to reject the very foundation of its pagan origins and accept the sacred basis of the celebration of the death of Christ by referencing the event by its legitimate God-given event-name, Passover, and observing it on the divinely ordained date of Abib 14?

Christ is not our Easter—a female goddess! He is our Passover—a male Lamb! [1 Cor 5:7.] True Christ-followers will not associate themselves with putrid paganism in place of the pure Passover Lamb of God. Churchianity’s universally self-infected moral pandemic has no antidote, save that which a returning Messiah can provide.
